Some pain cannot be explained by the state of the tissue: the muscle is intact but will not switch on, or something that should have healed still hurts. In those cases the nervous system is part of the problem. Neuromodulation applies current to the nerve responsible in order to normalise that signal, restore muscle activation and reduce pain. It is always paired with exercise, because the goal is to get the muscle working again.
